We are proud to share that Georgie will be taking on the 2026 TCS London Marathon on Sunday 26th April, as part of Epilepsy Society’s Team Purple. This remarkable commitment continues her personal mission to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy research which, since her brother’s epilepsy diagnosis in 2024, is a cause that has become deeply meaningful to her and her family.
A Journey Inspired by Family
Georgie’s marathon journey began in 2025 when she completed the Chester Marathon, her first long‑distance race. Completing the Chester Marathon was a milestone that not only proved Georgie’s determination but also ignited her desire to continue supporting epilepsy research in a meaningful way. The overwhelming encouragement she received from friends, family, and colleagues encouraged her to take the next step, quite literally, by joining the Epilepsy Society team for the London Marathon.
Training, Fundraising, and Raising Awareness
Between now and race day, Georgie is dedicating countless hours to training while also organising a series of fundraising activities. These events will help raise vital funds for the Epilepsy Society, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to transforming the lives of people affected by epilepsy through research, advocacy, and world‑class care.
The funds raised will support ongoing scientific research aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment, and long‑term management. They also help advance the charity’s work in challenging stigma and making life better for the 600,000+ people in the UK living with epilepsy.
Every Donation Makes a Difference
Georgie is incredibly grateful for any donation, whether large or small. Each contribution brings us closer to greater scientific breakthroughs, better treatments, and increased awareness of epilepsy, a condition that remains widely misunderstood.
Every pound donated helps ensure that more families receive the help, information, and hope they need.
A Message of Thanks
“Thank you” hardly feels enough for the generosity and encouragement Georgie has already received. This support has motivated her through every training mile and has strengthened her commitment to raising funds for a cause so close to her heart.
As the countdown to the 2026 TCS London Marathon continues, we look forward to sharing updates on her training, fundraising events, and progress. Your ongoing support means the world, to Georgie and to all those affected by epilepsy.

Georgie successfully completed the London Marathon, an extraordinary achievement. After months of dedication, training and preparation, she crossed the finish line while raising funds for the Epilepsy Society. Her commitment and determination have been truly inspiring, and everyone at Burfields House is incredibly proud of what she has accomplished.
After completing the London Marathon, Georgie has certainly earned some well-deserved rest and recovery. Following such an incredible achievement, a pair of cosy slippers should provide the perfect comfort for tired feet and a well-earned chance to relax after months of training and fundraising for the Epilepsy Society.
