As a Principal Partner Practice of St. James's Place, we have the resources to support Financial Education in schools and within the local community.
Here at Burfields House we are passionate about delivering Financial Education to young people. We believe that understanding and learning to manage personal finances should start at an early age and that financial advice, guidance, and education should be easily accessible to everyone.
Financial Education is an important life skill and provides young people with the necessary skills to feel confident when it comes to money.
We support schools and the local community with our complementary workshops where we teach young people about the importance of managing money. Our workshops are fun, interactive and designed to get young people engaged and thinking for the future.
Key stage 1: 5-7 years old
Our key stage 1 workshop is a 45-minute fun and interactive book reading session. Designed to engage, the story helps the children to gain a better understanding of budgeting and saving, with an opportunity at the end of the session for them to watch the story video and take part in a fun colouring activity.
Key stage 2: 10-11 years old
Our key stage 2 workshop is our Money Matters games session. The workshop is around three hours long and is interactive and high energy, as children compete with each other to learn key skills such as saving, budgeting, managing and spending.
Secondary School
For the 13–14 year olds, and the 16 -18 year olds who are about to leave school and possibly live away from home, we offer 14 modules covering seven key topics. Students can ‘pick and mix’ from modules including budgeting, borrowing and day to day banking, bringing real life scenarios into the classroom.
